Stress
Management with Hypnosis
It
is part of man's nature to respond to certain situations with the
'fight or flight' reaction. Only recently, in man's history, do we
now use a third option - 'freeze'. We don't go round punching people
on the nose, these days, and we don't run away; there are many situations
where we just stay silent and inwardly fume. The body has been pumped
up with all the things it needs to bring about a fight or a flight
but we allow nothing to happen. Many chemicals and compounds are flying
around our blood and muscles and the phrase 'It makes my blood boil'
is not very much of an exaggeration. If they are not used properly
and expended, these chemicals and compounds have detrimental effects
on the body. There are many but notably, the immune system crashes,
the ability to make decisions dwindles and behaviour becomes more
aggressive. This is stress.
One regularly found aspect of stress is that a lot of people who suffer
from it don't realize it and in fact, if asked, they will strongly
deny that they are suffering any stress, at all.
Mark could easily free you of the stress you have, now, in one session
and send you on your way. That would be unfair - you would be back
soon, with new stress. Instead, what he offers is a stress management
course. Firstly, the symptoms of stress are explained, so that you
can see when you are under stress. Then the effects of stress on the
human body are explained, so that you can understand why certain changes
take place and how bad they are for the body. An assessment is undertaken
at the beginning of the course and again at the end, to highlight
results. A programme is worked out, which, if followed, will remove
stress and or change they way you react to it. Finally, each session,
a deep hypnotic relaxation is given to relieve stress and to teach
you how to continue relaxing, after the course, using self-hypnosis.
This course incorporates over twenty years of practice; it has been
found successful with very little change, please don't think all you
need is to be able to hypnotise yourself - that would be a case of
a little knowledge being a dangerous thing. It is essential that you
understand the whole of the course, to recognise the symptoms and
understand the effects of stress and to know how to avoid it or deal
with it differently. To just keep taking an aspirin when you have
a headache does nothing about the cause of the headache. The stress
management course is four one hour sessions over consecutive weeks.
Corporate
Stress Management
At a corporate
level, a group talk is usually given to a number of employees, away
from the place of work (to avoid distractions), and then interested
individuals will be treated as above, on a confidential basis. This
means that the company would only know how many employees had taken
up the course, not their names and not any case details.
